The Met Gala may be widely recognized as “Fashion’s Biggest Night,” but it’s also a landmark event for beauty trends. Typically reserved stylists push boundaries, while those known for their bold choices elevate their creativity even further.
A prime example is Taraji P. Henson. Known for consistently impressive manicures, she went above and beyond at the First Monday in May. At the May 6 event, she showcased an elaborate, dazzling set of nails created by artist Temeka Jackson. Paired with her custom Simkhai gown and a floral, Diana Ross and Minnie Riperton-inspired updo by hairstylist Tym Wallace, Henson’s manicure combined gemstones, sculpted flowers, and pearls. Jackson crafted the look using Apres Nails’ extra-long Sculpted Stiletto Tips, embellishing them with custom 3D designs from Etsy shop @glamnailart, before securing them to Henson’s fingers for a stunning, standout look.
Complimenting her custom Simkhai gown and flower-bedecked, Diana Ross and Minnie Riperton-inspired updo by hairstylist Tym Wallace, the manicure features a hodgepodge of gemstones, sculpted flowers, and tiny pearls. Jackson crafted the manicure using Apres Nails’ extra-long Sculpted Stiletto Tips, adding the accoutrements (which included custom 3D styles by Etsy shop @glamnailart) before fixing them to her clients fingers.
